Dear chocolatier
I have a bunch of suggestions for what I'd like to see that I hope sparks an idea for you. Feel free to use the prompts or general likes (which apply to any fandom/relationship), to use them as starting points, or to do something else entirely that inspires you. I like a lot of things.
Where I request art and fic for a fandom, some of the prompts note what medium I'd prefer it for, but all the other prompts I'm fine with being interpreted as you see fit. The important thing is to avoid the stuff under my 'Do not include' list and it's all good.
General likes
- bonding in a post-apocalyptic scenario
- werewolves, especially if there's no werewolf society and there's little voluntary control over the transformation
- f/f and f/m rivalships with unquestioned mutual respect (whether developed later on or from the start)
- xeno, sexual or social
- worldbuilding, exploring the setting, sense of place

- Venom AU. One of the characters can be a Venom-like symbiote attaching to the other in the requested ship, or one of them can have actual Venom or something like a symbiote attach to them, with all the weirdness that entails for them and their loved one.

Homestuck: I haven't read the Epilogues and haven't got to all the H^2 updates yet so I'd prefer no reference to the events in them. I really do not want any focus on or characterisation influence from the Epilogues take on Dirk, Gamzee, or Jane, if they come up.
Pacific Rim: I only watched the first movie. I'm fine with references to the second movie or word-of-God info, as long as they're understandable in context of the fanwork only.
Umbrella Academy: comics references, spoilers for the upcoming season.

Naruto (fic)
Gaara/Rock Lee
- Arranged marriage. Maybe an AU where Gaara's powers aren't well known outside Suna and he gets married off to basically be used as a time bomb in Konoha, and then at the omiai he ignores the candidate(s) presented and goes for Lee, for whatever reason? Then love prevails! possibly along with political intrigue!
- negotiating their relationship in political terms, regarding belonging to different hidden villages
- Lee being unreasonably without fear while Gaara expects everyone to fear him
- anything where they feel like forces of nature, canon setting or AU
Homestuck (fic)
Aradia & Tavros
No moirallegiance, please, I friend-ship these two to the point where any romance between them won't do it for me.
- finding out they have the same sensibilities in FLARP - loving the adventure, exploring, and puzzles - unlike basically everyone else they play with
- Tavros interacting with Deadradia pre-canon, or trying to reach out to her if she n0 l0nger sees the p0int of talking to him
- Aradia seeking Tavros out after that moment in '[S] Make her pay.' where she stopped beating Vriska to death because of Tavros's reaction
- No-SGrub AU and helping each other out as much as they can in the Empire/rebellions/third option
Jade Harley/Feferi Peixes
- Really I just love that they call each other attractive on first meeting and would be interested in taking that further so that they date from that point on or shortly afterwards. Preferably with implications that Feferi won't be D-EAD forever, please, some Witch of Life magic could work here.
- Feferi the mermaid coming upon lonely Jade on her island (horror elements and/or fairy tale logic welcome)
- no SBurb/SGrub AU, but Jade discovers Grandpa has a transportaliser to Alternia, and she and Feferi meet
- Feferi has hair that can grab prey, and also girlfriends
- witch AU (Damara and/or the Handmaid are welcome too, though not in the romance)
Mallek Adalov/Friendsim Player Character
If it comes up, I prefer 'they' etc. for the PC's pronouns, but picking a gender is fine by me too. Or second-person POV to avoid all that, naturally.
- marriage, probably with the PC seriously bullshitting a way through the rituals
- the PC marking up Mallek somehow
- Mallek has this slightly sinister side that I'd love to see get more exploration. Maybe an AU where he does become a cog in the Empire and he and the PC meet up after he's been hardened?
- insecurity from Mallek that PC's FRIENDSHIP with so many others might make them think that Mallek isn't worth spending time with, and getting soothed out of it (or vice versa, if PC comes across Mallek having some cool friends)
- getting to know each other without the FRIENDSHIP compulsion
Aradia Megido/Vriska Serket
I prefer them caliginous, please.
- epic black romance that sets the stars ablaze
- Someone with ashen feelings intervenes because Vriska is sometimes outright terrified of Aradia (who is preferably still dead). Aradia says no thanks and tries to find a way to make the blackrom better and sustainable because she has come to value Vriska.
- Aradia and Vriska clashing as the only gods around, whether as god tier trolls or in a fantasy AU or something
- raised on Earth where there are few/no other trolls with them, and they have a hard time figuring out their feelings for each other
Tegiri Kalbur & Terezi Pyrope
- Meeting when Tegiri is older and jaded and Terezi is a young legislacerator (or possibly has some other role in the Empire?). It would be amazing if she has stars in his eyes about meeting him and he's like, 'oh no, youthful awe, but I'm a dumbass'.
- Tegiri knows something about Neophyte Redglare via contact with subversive anime/manga. When he meets Terezi, he has odd ideas about her.
- Justice conflicts, whether between them, or sharing worries and commiserating with each other about how their views conflict with ones they ought to hold. Tegiri's route made me wonder how Terezi approached the concept at the start, and how FLARP murders with Vriska, and her and some of her friends' disabilities affected that. Both of these two have devotion to the idea of justice but also have big old streaks of kindness and being goofballs, and those kind of things clash with how Alternia's concept of it has less to do with fairness and restitution, and more with the duty to cull every other lowblood for every other thing.
- working on a case together (any ages, can be an AU)
Jake/Tavros
A Gcatavros is fine too.
- living together on Earth C - how it started, the daily life, hanging with consorts together
- Fantasy AU of any kind. Two very uncertain adventurers talking about which direction to go at a crossroads? Fae Tavros who has a tough time convincing people he's not really about to trick them (...that badly), but Jake believes him? Two Prospitian nobles who learn their duties together?
- Jake realises that Tavros is a vaguely Avatar-like blue feline alien and lust suddenly crashes into him. Maybe Tavros had some kind of sprite level-up moment that brought on enough of a change that it blindsided Jake.
- AU where Tavros can troll the alpha kids too, or at least Jake
- pages reaching their full potential, possibly giving each other tips for it, gameplay-wise
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (fic)
Jane Bennet/Charles Bingley
- I can't help but think that Mr Bennet had a point when he said they'd be so mild and merry it would get them in trouble while they try and run an estate, but that makes me want to see them deal with external troubles and come out on top. Maybe it's Wickham, or perhaps another unscrupulous relative.
- PWP romp where they enjoy themselves and each other thoroughly
- crime AU; maybe they deploy unexpected badassery as they trick people by seeming very innocent, or maybe angst as they wish dearly to escape this lifestyle and try to do it together
- Canon divergence where they don't get together until years later. The fact that they were in love with each other didn't get cleared up back then, but when they meet again, sparks fly. I'd love them awkwardly trying to make their affections clear to each other, and maybe courtship under the noses of everyone who might disapprove. Maybe they elope!
Stranger Things (art, fic)
If it comes up, I prefer the use of El to Jane or Eleven in narration. Exceptions for if it's set before she gets her new names or if she makes it clear in the story she'd prefer to be called something other than El.
Will Byers/Billy Hargrove
- both of them are working out their issues with being attracted to guys, and some of the breaks in repression/denial/uncertainty happen with each other
- Will's giant crush on Billy that leaves him blushing tomato-red at the poolside. Possibly on several other lifeguards too? But especially, no matter how he wants to deny it after his friends' stories, Billy.
- monster trauma brings them together; maybe with dream-sharing or the 'now-memories' s2 had with Will and the Mind Flayer, accidentally shared normal memories left over from the possession, or Will trying to bring up the awkward subject of whether or not Billy is housing monster larvae
- Billy cutting Will's hair
- in the Upside Down together
Joyce Byers/Karen Wheeler
- Holly got nabbed by the demogorgon too in s1, or it almost happens while she's in front of Karen. Joyce/Karen bonding through supernatural horror ensues. Please don't kill off Holly!
- Joyce offering support to Karen when she divorces Ted, and it leads to romance. Maybe with a shared household along the way?
- high school romance AU, preferably without mention of endgame Karen/Ted
- anything featuring Karen picking at least one lock
- Fic: omegaverse where whoops, one stumbles on the other during heat/rut/whatever and they find each other nigh irresistible. (A worldbuilding request, if it comes up: that betas have a little more going on than being normal humans, unless it's a set-up where alphas and omegas are very rare.) This butts up against my cheating DNW if set in a canon-ish time, but I'd be down for it if it's accepted in-universe that this kind of thing happens sometimes during heats and ruts. Or maybe Ted is out of the picture already.
Billy Hargrove & Steve Harrington
- Steve thinking about how they're foils, basically. I felt like that was part of the reason Billy was introduced in s2, and in-universe, s3 Steve was still hung up on having been a frequently shallow, at times terrible person and improving himself. It would be interesting if he engages with what degree he and Billy reflect each other. In the gap between the seasons, or post-s3 (in which case, feel free to ignore my DNW about permanent character death).
- Becoming friends. Being fun-loving jerks together? figuring out the quieter sides of each other? being more a monster-fighting team than close friends, but trusting each other completely for that?
- S2: Getting back to the Byerses' house and finding Billy still passed out on the floor. It could go into how they got Billy out without any reason to have questions, or AU where he needs medical help due to a reaction to the drugs, or maybe the demodog in the freezer crawled out and on desperate Mind Flayer instructions got him flayed early.
- Art: scene where they're in Little League baseball but kiddo Steve still has a nailbat and is using it to give kiddo Billy tips on his swing. (Sometimes I just want random things.)
Robin Buckley & Steve Harrington
I'd prefer to avoid reference to Steve crushing on Robin at any point, unless it's something set during the canon scene where he's confessing to developing feelings for her.
- deciding to keep working together after Scoops Ahoy goes down
- fic: becoming friends in high school already, Robin somehow getting over her loathing and Steve less full of himself
- Coming to like each other a lot and trust each other a little even before the events of s3, and maybe how the friendship would have developed without the whole flaying/Russians thing going down right then. Bonus: the time when they had to appear in that Starcourt TV ad (about 58 seconds in).
- post-canon; the friendship lasting through the years (maybe a phone call/letter/post card years later)
Billy Hargrove/Max Mayfield
- gratuitous cuddles (it can be via cuddle pollen or something if needs be, idc)
- How they got to the increased affection and trust in season 3, especially if there's remaining dysfunction in the relationship but it works better for them. Max being worried about Billy from the start of suspicion about him being flayed and Billy confessing to Max about hurting people made me think they'd managed to bond, and I love seeing takes on how.
- sharing clothes
- what used to be platonic and now isn't entirely
- Flayed Max, Billy trying to help. Or flayed together, and doing up knowledge about each other that makes things weird afterwards.
The Penumbra Podcast (fic)
On canon ships: I like them too and am perfectly fine with those being still being a thing, or for them not to be mentioned at all. I'd just like to keep focus on my requested ships and no jealousy, or characters being sad due to romantic/sexual goings on with others.
Buddy Aurinko/Juno Steel
- PWP because I have a conviction in me that this would be really hot
- Buddy shows up in the femme fatale role but Does Not stay there even if Juno thinks she's great at it
- AU where Juno is Buddy's "Jet" (but with romance)
- Buddy's dawning, slightly horrifying, amusing realisation how much hotheaded grumps with poor impulse control are her type
Jet Sikuliaq/Juno Steel
- size difference kink
- Leaning into Jet's whole thing about giving out his name. AU where he tells it to Juno out of a direct decision to do so, canon setting where Juno sort of feeling like he shouldn't use it because technically it was given to Rita, Jet telling Juno something else and making it clear it's as big a deal to him as his name...
- AU where Juno is Buddy's "Jet" and Jet is the PI getting recruited
Mick Mercury/Juno Steel
- Juno tells Mick about the time he pulled out a regular King of the Freeway whopper to keep himself going, Mick finds it deeply touching
- their younger years; e.g. crushes (maybe at different times to each other), first kiss, losing virginity to each other
- rescues over the years
- calls to Mick from Buddy's ship
Sir Angelo/Rita
- Sir Angelo lands on Mars or wherever the crew goes in s3 and helps out by being The Strong, but also becomes enchanted by Rita's tales of adventures, her loyalty, and her sweetness
- Rita lands in the world of the Second Citadel and joins in on a quest, struck by Angelo's dedication to doing good, enjoying that he is pretty decent at being corrected on his bad assumptions, and appreciating help on how to translate her skills into the new setting
- I get the feeling Rita usually goes for women. I'd be down for a courtly love thing where they don't actually hook up but there are all sorts of sweet, romantic gestures.
- mutually driving everyone around them bananas, while the same people also admit on occasion that these two are sweet together
The Umbrella Academy (TV) (fic)
Grace Hargreeves & Dr. Pogo
- Grace goes outside!! I would love it if she manages to break out of her programming enough to do so, and would love to have Pogo be part of that somehow. Does he decide to help her in the first place, or does he feel inspired to take his own steps away from being a faithful creation after she does it?
- they have to defeat villains together (possibly with other members of the family around, possibly not) and it requires ingenuity to get around their respective limitations
- public perception of them; maybe during the time the Umbrella Academy was active, or after Vanya's book was published, or once things became much quieter
- sometimes they also dance along with the kids
- Pogo becoming a doctor. Did Grace lend any kind of support there? Organise congratulations?
Dolores/Number Five | The Boy
- the process of Dolores sort-of developing a personality
- Five finding (making?) them matching sequin outfits for a special occasion
- the start of the romance
- Other Hargreeves siblings accepting the relationship in their own ways - even if it includes trying to get Five to talk about being wildly lonely over the years or meeting other people or whatever, but not seriously mocking Five. (I actually liked when Luther threatened Dolores - not exactly respectful but it did show that he got how serious Five was about his mannequin wife.)

- So there's that Halloween pic where Holster carries puck bunny Bitty around. Smut set right around then would be great.

Eric "Bitty" Bittle/Kent "Parse" Parson
- AU where Bitty never overheard the conversation between Jack and Kent. Or where he overheard something that made him think better of Parse rather than Jack.

- Bitty/Jack ends and there is some slightly bitter exes bonding between Bitty and Parse

Holster/Jack
- The hints of Holster disliking Jack crack me up. I'd love a scenario where he has managed to have hatesex with Jack while Jack parses it as a friendly hook-up.
- a situation where 'my teammate' or 'Jack IS a good guy' outweighs Holster being prone to irritation with him (protectiveness appreciated)
- Ransom and Holster wrote Jack/Parse fic at some point. This causes awkwardness (either it gets discovered or Holster just feels weird about it as he starts feeling weird about Jack).
- In a Hogwarts AU. I don't know why I want this but I do. Maybe a full-on HP fusion with one of them as the Boy Who Lived?
Pacific Rim (art, fic)
Mako Mori & Stacker Pentecost
- Mako's different feelings for Stacker over the years, seeing him as hero, mentor, leader, surrogate father. Not necessarily as a clean-cut switch from one to the next, though, messy feelings are great.
- How the initial adoption process went.
- drifting together and/or finding Stacker in the drift
- language barriers, especially at the beginning
Hannibal/Newt
- Hannibal having a streak of being a dumbass nerd much like Newt (since that eye injury makes it look like he also tried drifting with a kaiju)
- Newt semi-transforming into a kaiju, cue xeno kink

Mako Mori/Stacker Pentecost
That 'Sensei, aishiteru' got me going WAIT, WHAT as that's a hell of a way to tell a surrogate parent you love them, and shortly afterwards concluding that I'd really like a take on the relationship where Mako had suppressed one-sided longing and took a final chance for its expression. Requited love is welcome but not necessary, but I'd very much prefer it to happen once Mako is an adult.
- 'Sensei, aishiteru' getting blurted out in context where it's not immediately followed by death.
- Crime AU, with regret from Stacker about bringing Mako into something like this, and Mako figuring out where her limits are between loyalty and respect and her own sense of right and wrong. This can be a complete AU or more canon-aligned, with Stacker having to do even more dodgy things to keep funding for the Jaeger programme than he already did.
- Art: that timeless classic, sharing an umbrella.
- What it would take to get Stacker returning Mako's feelings. I could see him picking up on them eventually and it causing him to be able to think about her in a romantic way, but he holds himself to such rigid standards that doing something about it would require something on level of an empire collapsing. But that's cool, I'd love that.
Digimon Adventure 02 (fic)
Dub and sub are both fine by me!
Ichijouji Ken/Ichijouj Osamu | Sam Ichijouji
- Suddenly Sam is alive again. Perhaps in a digital body or as a digimon of some kind? And Ken finds it intense on several levels (some of which he technically shouldn't) to deal with.
- AU with Sam not dying, but this does nothing to decrease the contentions in their relationship and Ken's preoccupation with his brother
- part of Sam literally stayed in Ken, ghost style
Inoue Miyako | Yolei Inoue/Tachikawa Mimi
- visiting Mimi overseas
- AU take on the 02 epilogue where they're a couple
- PWP (bonus for it being the first time for one of them)
- stuck in the Digital World together

- one of them coming to a realisation that they're bi or pan, thanks to the other
- an exploration of what Jogress evolution means for them (and their digimon) and in how it makes them think of each other

- missing one other during some kind of separation

- A look at their later lives. But not with them breaking up, please, have it AU. Or the epilogue progeny could be their clones, frankly, and they're married. I love that noodle cart, and being a Digiworld ambassador sounds intriguing - maybe Davis joins in on a long ambassadorial trip, or Tai helps taste-test new recipes.

Courfeyrac/Marius
- terribly awkward Marius, and Courfeyrac rolling with it, though with a lot of teasing
- vampire Marius (an inspiration post); maybe this puts a wrinkle in Marius's hope of living with Courfeyrac, maybe Courfeyrac is even more welcoming than already assumed - if also more cautious
- fashion plate Courfeyrac helps Marius out with his self-presentation, and things get hands-on
- Marius helps Courfeyrac with something political (smuggling plans, making arrangements to have illegal pamphlets printed, idk) - and maybe, on successful conclusion, there is triumphant kissing? or things go wrong, and then a rescue?
Conventionnel G./Charles-François-Bienvenu Myriel
Feel free to pick the member of the convention a non-obscured name.
- G. doesn't die yet and Myriel finds he wants to speak to him again and again
- meeting somehow when they're younger and Myriel is far less principled, while G. is a political hothead

- Someone with ashen feelings intervenes because Vriska is sometimes outright terrified of Aradia (who is preferably still dead). Aradia says no thanks and tries to find a way to make the blackrom better and sustainable because she has come to value Vriska.
- Aradia and Vriska clashing as the only gods around, whether as god tier trolls or in a fantasy AU or something
- raised on Earth where there are few/no other trolls with them, and they have a hard time figuring out their feelings for each other
Tegiri Kalbur & Terezi Pyrope
- Meeting when Tegiri is older and jaded and Terezi is a young legislacerator (or possibly has some other role in the Empire?). It would be amazing if she has stars in his eyes about meeting him and he's like, 'oh no, youthful awe, but I'm a dumbass'.
- Tegiri knows something about Neophyte Redglare via contact with subversive anime/manga. When he meets Terezi, he has odd ideas about her.
- Justice conflicts, whether between them, or sharing worries and commiserating with each other about how their views conflict with ones they ought to hold. Tegiri's route made me wonder how Terezi approached the concept at the start, and how FLARP murders with Vriska, and her and some of her friends' disabilities affected that. Both of these two have devotion to the idea of justice but also have big old streaks of kindness and being goofballs, and those kind of things clash with how Alternia's concept of it has less to do with fairness and restitution, and more with the duty to cull every other lowblood for every other thing.

- Fantasy AU of any kind. Two very uncertain adventurers talking about which direction to go at a crossroads? Fae Tavros who has a tough time convincing people he's not really about to trick them (...that badly), but Jake believes him? Two Prospitian nobles who learn their duties together?
- Jake realises that Tavros is a vaguely Avatar-like blue feline alien and lust suddenly crashes into him. Maybe Tavros had some kind of sprite level-up moment that brought on enough of a change that it blindsided Jake.
- AU where Tavros can troll the alpha kids too, or at least Jake

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (fic)
Jane Bennet/Charles Bingley
- I can't help but think that Mr Bennet had a point when he said they'd be so mild and merry it would get them in trouble while they try and run an estate, but that makes me want to see them deal with external troubles and come out on top. Maybe it's Wickham, or perhaps another unscrupulous relative.
- PWP romp where they enjoy themselves and each other thoroughly
- crime AU; maybe they deploy unexpected badassery as they trick people by seeming very innocent, or maybe angst as they wish dearly to escape this lifestyle and try to do it together
- Canon divergence where they don't get together until years later. The fact that they were in love with each other didn't get cleared up back then, but when they meet again, sparks fly. I'd love them awkwardly trying to make their affections clear to each other, and maybe courtship under the noses of everyone who might disapprove. Maybe they elope!

If it comes up, I prefer the use of El to Jane or Eleven in narration. Exceptions for if it's set before she gets her new names or if she makes it clear in the story she'd prefer to be called something other than El.
Will Byers/Billy Hargrove
- both of them are working out their issues with being attracted to guys, and some of the breaks in repression/denial/uncertainty happen with each other
- Will's giant crush on Billy that leaves him blushing tomato-red at the poolside. Possibly on several other lifeguards too? But especially, no matter how he wants to deny it after his friends' stories, Billy.
- monster trauma brings them together; maybe with dream-sharing or the 'now-memories' s2 had with Will and the Mind Flayer, accidentally shared normal memories left over from the possession, or Will trying to bring up the awkward subject of whether or not Billy is housing monster larvae

- Holly got nabbed by the demogorgon too in s1, or it almost happens while she's in front of Karen. Joyce/Karen bonding through supernatural horror ensues. Please don't kill off Holly!
- Joyce offering support to Karen when she divorces Ted, and it leads to romance. Maybe with a shared household along the way?

- anything featuring Karen picking at least one lock
- Fic: omegaverse where whoops, one stumbles on the other during heat/rut/whatever and they find each other nigh irresistible. (A worldbuilding request, if it comes up: that betas have a little more going on than being normal humans, unless it's a set-up where alphas and omegas are very rare.) This butts up against my cheating DNW if set in a canon-ish time, but I'd be down for it if it's accepted in-universe that this kind of thing happens sometimes during heats and ruts. Or maybe Ted is out of the picture already.
Billy Hargrove & Steve Harrington
- Steve thinking about how they're foils, basically. I felt like that was part of the reason Billy was introduced in s2, and in-universe, s3 Steve was still hung up on having been a frequently shallow, at times terrible person and improving himself. It would be interesting if he engages with what degree he and Billy reflect each other. In the gap between the seasons, or post-s3 (in which case, feel free to ignore my DNW about permanent character death).
- Becoming friends. Being fun-loving jerks together? figuring out the quieter sides of each other? being more a monster-fighting team than close friends, but trusting each other completely for that?
- S2: Getting back to the Byerses' house and finding Billy still passed out on the floor. It could go into how they got Billy out without any reason to have questions, or AU where he needs medical help due to a reaction to the drugs, or maybe the demodog in the freezer crawled out and on desperate Mind Flayer instructions got him flayed early.
- Art: scene where they're in Little League baseball but kiddo Steve still has a nailbat and is using it to give kiddo Billy tips on his swing. (Sometimes I just want random things.)
Robin Buckley & Steve Harrington
I'd prefer to avoid reference to Steve crushing on Robin at any point, unless it's something set during the canon scene where he's confessing to developing feelings for her.

- fic: becoming friends in high school already, Robin somehow getting over her loathing and Steve less full of himself

Requited love is welcome but not necessary, but I'd very much prefer it to happen once Mako is an adult.
- 'Sensei, aishiteru' getting blurted out in context where it's not immediately followed by death.
- Crime AU, with regret from Stacker about bringing Mako into something like this, and Mako figuring out where her limits are between loyalty and respect and her own sense of right and wrong. This can be a complete AU or more canon-aligned, with Stacker having to do even more dodgy things to keep funding for the Jaeger programme than he already did.
- Art: that timeless classic, sharing an umbrella.
- What it would take to get Stacker returning Mako's feelings. I could see him picking up on them eventually and it causing him to be able to think about her in a romantic way, but he holds himself to such rigid standards that doing something about it would require something on level of an empire collapsing.
