Homestuck. Oh, Homestuck.

Wow. Just basically wow. When I got to "Will you..." my first thought was to complete it with "marry me?" and yet I was still surprised HE ACTUALLY SAID THAT.
this comic ... I can only love it. Most of the time. When I do, I love it a lot. Luckily I picked up enough about the Vriska is Hussie's Self-Insert and Girlfriend jokes from his deleted Formspring that this didn't seem completely bizarre (just beautifully bizarre). A lot of fandom seems to be wildly perplexed.
And yet I'm also taking this update kind of seriously because Vriska is wandering through Tavros's game land, which is part wonderful and part terrible, as per any kind of Tavros-Vriska interaction. What does it meeeaaaan, where is Doomed John, (can I really be thinking about Vriska/Hussie in a legit way no please stop), what has she been doing! Being depressed apparently. Well, that's better than bouncing back into old form.
I am very mopey about the lack of Gamzee this intermission, though. Not even a single panel of a creepy silhouette doing mysterious things? I hope this is another fake-out intermission ending and we do get a panel like that. Although getting back to Jane, Dirk, and Roxy's situations also promises to be pretty great.

Date: 2012-04-03 10:34 am (UTC)Yeah, her wandering through the desert with all the horses was mysterious in a not-crack way. What's up with you, Vriska?
NEEDS MOAR GAMZEE, yes. I mean, you can't define someone as the most important character and then ignore him. (Also! Gamzee! INTERESTING. Here, have my Gamzee icon.) But yeah, alpha kids games will also be interesting, just. You know. Flargh. (Of course, I'm... not at all sad at AH's death, because as awesome as Homestuck is I find his self-insert to be the biggest waste of space asshat ever, so uh. Yeah.)

Date: 2012-04-03 07:11 pm (UTC)I'm kind of surprised Vriska is present already, although I guess that's silly. Even if the major part of her role is over, it's a good time to look in on her again considering that characters have been talking about her lately.
People have theorised that "the most important character" actually referred to Lil Cal, who was sitting on Gamzee's lap at the same time he as the "important" line came up. But even then Gamzee currently owns Lil Cal, so that should count for something!
Um haha I'm kind of sad about Hussie's death. The whole concept of the self-insert annoyed me immensely up until the time he beat Scratch up with a broom. I really dislike Scratch so that gave me a soft spot for the self-insert, and now I genuinely find ... the character, I guess ... kind of cute.

Date: 2012-04-03 11:58 pm (UTC)Yeah, I dunno, I've stopped being surprised when characters suddenly appear/reappear/etc.; that much always seems to make sense in retrospect, so!
Bah, booooooooring. Gamzee is clearly > Lil' Cal. *laughs* Priorities, I has them!
*snerk* Well, fair enough! It was really nice to see Doc Scratch get what he deserved. Though I think it would've been even better if he managed to die at the hands of the kids/the trolls/the poor baby Handmaiden! And it's interesting in a storytelling way; the author is explicitly dead, etc. I guess we'll see~~
